Early morning light reflects on the Colorado River in the Granite Gorge of the Grand Canyon. In the distance, the rim of the canyon rises over 5,000 feet above the river. The glow on the river in this photo lasted only seconds as a thick layer of fog was burned-off by the morning sun.
If you've ever been to Mohave Point on the South Rim of the canyon, you may recall seeing the Colorado River to the west of the overlook. This is that same section of the river, and the prominent point on the rim in this photograph is Mohave Point.
