In the spring, as the snow in the high country of Arizona begins to melt, the Little Colorado River comes to life. Along it's journey to the Grand Canyon it must first past over Grand Falls. Also known as Chocolate Falls due to the color of the water which is filled with sediment, this magnificent cascade fills the desert air with its thunderous roar for just a few days, perhaps a week, before it dries up and waits for the next spring runoff.
